This outside sales position prospects and sells Galactic products and services to businesses and industries in vertical and horizontal markets while creating and maintaining a professional image for Galactic with existing and potential clients. The Director, Business Development will work independently and part of a sales and marketing team to develop leads with follow through action plans to maximize efforts in gaining new business and maintaining existing business.
Responsible for prospecting and generating new incentive, recognition and/or loyalty programs.
Responsible for achieving or exceeding the assigned sales quota and maintaining the expenses as outlined.
Prepares and gathers client information for sales presentations and proposals.
Develops, and achieves quarterly objectives, forecasts, etc., and assists in the development of the annual sales department budget.
Works in conjunction with creative personnel in the creation and development of sales incentive presentations to insure that the Galactic image is maintained.
Utilizes systems to maintain all activity and history for all active clients and potential clients in a timely manner.
Coordinates between accounts, marketing services, administration, and travel department in supplementing and fulfilling programs.
Attains activity standards to satisfy account needs.
Assures proposals are completed on time and meet the requirements established for WIN/WIN sales effort.
Acts as liaison with account personnel in servicing their programs and the collection of any outstanding balances.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Assists to fulfill all of the sales team objectives.
With approval, attends trade shows, sales seminars, industry events, etc. to maintain knowledge of industry to present product proposals and Galactic in a professional manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Knowledge of incentive and/or hospitality industry required. Ability to work from our Arlington, Texas location. Able to prospect for potential leads to generate a pipeline. Able to present and sell to both vertical and horizontal markets. Able to display strong presentation, urgency and proven closer. Must be able to interact with high-level executives and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing with confidence and clarity; be a self-starter and be able to set and achieve goals and objectives; be able to work within a team environment and be willing to support the team objectives; proficient in Microsoft Word, Basic Excel spread sheets, have sufficient math skills to figure Gross Margin and Gross Mark up and understand the difference. Must be a quick learner and develop relationships with the other sales directors and all departments within the company, knowledge of sales management software such as CRM helpful.
Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments; ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff, team members, and the general public; ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form; ability to accept constructive criticism from supervisor; ability to follow company policies.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years outside sales experience in solutions based selling ; OR
A four year degree in business management or marketing required.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
